Latest Project
January - November 2006: ARCADIA GROUP.
Completely new suite of e-commerce websites for Britain's largest retail giant.
All the UK's top brands:
Working with the Arcadia IT Programme Manager, I set-up, trained and directed the E-commerce Design Team throughout the design and build phase of the project to the successful launch of the major brands.
Contracted-in as Arcadia's E-commerce Consultant, I liased with IBM's Websphere Project Managers, Brand Directors and representatives, third-party design agencies, in-house graphic designers and web developers to ensure seamless integration of front-end user-interfaces and back-end technology.
All the sites use the same xhtml templates (served-up via IBM's Java-based Websphere), yet all were given their own unique brand 'look and feel' by using separate stylesheets based on Web Standards Project guidelines for accessibilty.
Recent Projects
July - October 2005: Institute of Directors.
I was contracted-in for a complete redesign and rebuild of the Institute of Directors website.
As a worldwide association of members, the Institute of Directors (IoD) provides a professional network that reaches into every corner of the business community. Their membership spans the whole spectrum of business leadership, from the largest public companies to the smallest private firms.
The project brief was to build the website (over 2000 pages!) to xhtml strict guidelines, thereby making it accessible across a wide variety of user agents.
Previous Projects
March/April 2005: Smith & Nephew.
Working with the design team at Magus Research in London, the brief was to make Smith & Nephew's 2004 end of financial year results accessible and WAI standards compliant.
This involved designing and building over 80 accessible data tables that could be accessed by screen readers and speech browsers.

March 2003 - January 2005 TUI (UK) LTD
Working with very strong brands and with an annual (UK) group turnover for financial year 2004 of £117 million, I was responsible for site and online promotional design (and offline tie-ins) for the following travel brands:
- Portland-Direct Holidays
- Just Holidays (now part of Thomson portal)
- >Thomson Fly
- Thomson Flights
- Thomson Holidays
- Budget Holidays
I designed user-interface systems, offer and deal placement templates (now converted to CMS templates via TeamSite), promotions (campaigns) and online promotional materials such as deep-linked dynamic banners from scamp through comp through to build (using Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, JavaScript, CSS and XHTML).
I was also responsible for sourcing and placement of all photo stock for the web sites and updating of the offers and deals on a daily basis (now also converted to CMS templates).
Along with one client side developer, I was responsible for the build and development of these sites. Finally, this involved porting all sites to a massive Java portal system and rebuilding the site components to XHTML templates that adhere to WAI and W3C standards and guidelines for accessibility.
